50 Shorewood Runners Finish Lakefront Marathon
Local runner Erik Timmerman finished 121 in a field of 2,076 Sunday.
Shorewood runner Erik Timmerman led a group of local runners, finishing 121 in a field of 2,076 in Sunday's 31st annual Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.
Nick Szczech of Cudahy (2:22:17) and Ryan Meissen of Mukwonago (2:27:37) finished first and second in the marathon, while Timmerman was clocked with a finish time of 3:11:49. finished third at 2:35:24.
Also in Sunday's event, 62 runners set a Guinness World Record by tethering themselves together while running the marathon in six hours and 20 minutes. They raised $108,000 for medical rehabilitation for Jenny Crain, an elite Milwaukee runner hit by a car in 2007 while training for Olympic trials. Shorewood's Alexander Fraser was among those helping raise the funds for Crain in the "Jennipede" World Record event.

Fifty Shorewood runners finished Sunday’s race including Scott Adams at 128 with a time of 3:12:55, Brian Lee finishing 214 clocked at 3:22:32 and at 262 with a time of 3:27:39.
