Construction On Oakland Avenue Begins Monday: Shorewood
Oakland Avenue is getting a facelift from Edgewood Avenue to Capitol Drive starting Monday. The project will alter traffic until mid-August.

SHOREWOOD, WI β Pavement resurfacing begins Monday on the section of Oakland Avenue from Edgewood Avenue until Capitol Drive. The project will last until about mid-August and will change the traffic pattern in the area.
The project will bring repairs to the damaged parts of Oakland Avenue that are south of Capitol Drive. At the end of the project the roadway will be paved with fresh asphalt, according to the Village Managers Weekly Memo.

Monday - Traffic control is installed and reconstruction of centerline manholes begins. Traffic will be redirected into the parking lanes.
Week of July 26 - All traffic rerouted to main southbound lane and parking lane. Reconstruction of manholes continues. Concrete repair begins in northbound lanes.

Week of August 2 - Construction on northbound lanes could wrap up this week. Traffic will move to the northbound parking and traffic lane when complete. Construction will begin on the southbound side of the street, and traffic will be moved to the northbound lanes.
Week of August 9 - Conclude construction of southbound lanes. The entire roadway will then receive its traffic markings this week.
After the project, the southern section of Oakland Avenue will have a fresh layer of pavement.
The project is weather permitting and the schedule could change.
