Cool Off at Village Center This Week

The village has designated the Village Center and Shorewood Public Library as a "cool place," to step out of the hot sun and humidity.

Looking for a place to beat the heat?

The village has designated the Village Center and Shorewood Public Library, 3920 N. Murray Ave., as a "cool place," to step out of the hot sun and humidity.

The library complex will stay open later, until 10 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Bring something quiet to entertain yourself.

Older adults, infants and people with health conditions are especially vulnerable to heat-related illness. The village encourages residents to keep a special eye on those neighbors at higher risk to succumbing to the heat.

The temperature is forecasted to reach or exceed 90 degrees Tuesday through Thursday with high humidity.
