Crime Time: OWI, Stolen Pistol

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A 22-year-old Oconomowoc man was arrested Tuesday for operating a car while intoxicated in the 3800 block of North Lake Drive. After initially being stopped for operating with no headlights, the police officer smelled alcohol and conducted a sobriety test. The man’s blood alcohol content was .20. The OWI was his 1st offense.

Also in the police reports:

  • A Shorewood man’s Ruger 38 Special pistol was reported stolen from his locked car while it was parked in a secure parking garage for a apartment in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue. The man told police it was taken sometime between November and Wednesday. He said he had been in the hospital since March and hadn’t checked his car. He also reported a $175 GPS unit stolen from the car. There were no signs of forced entry to the car according to police.
  • A homeowner in the 2400 block of East Stratford Court told police Tuesday she saw two college-aged men walk into her backyard and steal two bicycles. The bikes belonged to her daughter and her daughter’s friend.
  • A Shorewood man was taken to a nearby hospital Wednesday after he was found on his hands and knees in the middle of the intersection at East Kensington Boulevard and North Oakland Avenue.
