Crime Time: OWI, Stolen Vehicle
A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A 34-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated Friday after Shorewood police pulled him over for swerving and crossing over the center line in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue. According to the police report, the man smelled of intoxicants and had red, glassy eyes when police pulled him over. The man was transported to a local hospital after he elected for a blood draw instead of breathalyzer. He would fail the sobriety test. It was the man’s first offense.
Also in the police reports:
- Police were called to an apartment building Saturday in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue after a tenant sent a text message to the building’s manager complaining of the smell of marijuana coming from bathroom vent. Police walked the halls but weren’t able to track down the source of the smell.
- An man trying to pilfer a pie rack — without pies — from , 1305 E. Capitol Dr., was caught in the act by a manager, who yelled at the man to drop it. The man dropped the pie-making equipment, jumped into his Ford pickup truck and took off, but not before the manager could get the vehicle’s license plate. Police are still trying to track down the suspect.
- Two vehicle owners woke up to find their cars rummaged through Friday, after they were illegally entered. However, nothing was taken from the vehicles parked in a driveway in the 3800 block of North Farwell Avenue.
- The owner of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport reported it was stolen sometime overnight Sunday, while it was parked in the 4500 block of North Oakland Avenue.
