Have a Cold One at Your Favorite Shorewood Bar
Three of Shorewood's most popular bars each has something unique going on Thursday night.

Who says you have to wait until Friday to blow off a little steam after work at the neighborhood watering hole? As far as we're concerned, there's nothing wrong with starting the weekend a bit early.
And if you want to go head to one of Shorewood's bars, here is a look at what they're up to Thursday:
- At the Oakcrest Tavern, 4022 N. Oakland Ave., it's wing night.  Buffalo, teriyaki or barbecue wings are just 45 cents each, as long as you're drinking. It's also Team Trivia Night starting at 8:30 p.m.
- Three Lions Pub, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., has karaoke night from 9 p.m. to just before midnight.
- And at the Camp Bar, 4044 N. Oakland Ave., it's "Thirsty Thursday," which means all rail drinks are half price from 7 to 10 p.m.
In Whitefish Bay, the newest restaurant — appropriately called The Bay — will have its official grand opening celebration.
The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at the establishment, located at 342 E. Silver Spring Drive. The celebration, which has a tropical theme, will include live music by Florida band Innerwave starting at 8 p.m., as well as a tropical drink special, shish-kabobs a featured tropical pizza, a wine raffle and chances to win local business gift certificates.
Also on tap Thursday is the opening of the Wisconsin State Fair. The headliner on the Main Stage is the '70s group Heart. And this year there are 70 new food items this year, with 21 of them on-a-stick. You can now find things like gelato on-a-stick, BBQ pulled pastrami with zesty red cabbage slaw and the beer battered bacon wrapped cheddar hot dog on-a-stick.
You'll find everything you need to know about the big event inPatch's 2103 Wisconsin State Fair Guide.
