Village Board Race Added Late Addition
Michael Sauer joined incumbent Michael Maher and newcomers Don Ford and Christopher Piotrowski in pursuing two seats.
Four people — including three newcomers — will contend for two seats on the Shorewood Village Board in the general election April 5.
Shorewood resident Michael Sauer, 904 E. Glendale Avenue, joined the race less than an hour before the 5 p.m. deadline to file.
Incumbent Michael Maher and newcomers Don Ford and Christopher Piotrowski had previously filed paperwork to run.

Maher, 2100 E. Menlo Boulevard, joined the board in 2005 and said he is running again because there are a lot of projects he would like to help work on.
Ford, 4300 N. Lake Drive, said he initially wasn't going to run again but was urged by some village officials to do so. He noted his children are grown up and his wife works so it's time to start a new chapter.

Ford has been a certified public accountant for the last 30 years and has worked with companies such as Exxon and Johnson Controls Inc.
Piotrowski, 4609 N. Marlborough Drive, couldn't be reached for comment.
The trustee post is a three-year term with a $1,000 annual salary.
