According to police, the man entered the locked front entrance to the video store located at 4108 N. Oakland Ave. at 3:32 a.m. by pushing through window panels next to the door, causing $500 in damage to the frame. He quickly fled the store, however, after the alarm system activated, police say, leaving the scene empty-handed.
Police say he was later found, around 3:40 a.m., in the rear parking lot of the River Park Apartments, 1600 E. River Park Ct., in possession of stolen property from a illegally entered car. Several cars were found illegally entered in the parking lot, according to police. They were all unlocked at the time.
