SHOREWOOD, WI β€” Shorewood School District Interim Superintendent JoAnn Sternke will continue to serve in her role through July 2023, The Shorewood School Board announced in a letter.

The Board is expected to approve Sternke's contract extension during its meeting on Dec. 14. The continuation of Sternke's role as superintendent comes after five months of her exceeding expectations, the board wrote in its letter.

"She has committed herself to becoming a visible presence in our District and our community, attending arts and athletic events, visiting classrooms and schools, reaching out to parents, Village organizations and peer districts, and much more," the letter signed by members of the school board reads.
