Shorewood To See Flood Of Library Love
You're invited to thank the Shorewood Public Library staff by displaying a sign in your yard.
SHOREWOOD,WI—The Friends of Shorewood Public Library said they are thrilled the library has re-opened while so many other libraries in the county and state remain closed.
"The librarians and staff are taking every safety precaution, so that we can once again access one of the most important places in our village," the organization wrote.
October is the month during which National Friends of Libraries Week (October 18-24) is celebrated.

Despite many changes to business-as-usual, one thing isn't changing in 2020. Homeowners are continuing the tradition of posting “I ♥ SHOREWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY” yard and window signs.
"These signs will be particularly meaningful this year—a heartfelt sign of our appreciation for our beloved library as well as the librarians and staff members who have worked throughout the pandemic," the organization wrote.

Some of the reasons the team at the library is being celebrated are their new and innovative ways to offer children’s and teens’ summer reading programs as well as Terrific Tuesdays.
They are adapting adult book clubs to Zoom format. They will be bringing out new programs throughout the autumn and winter. And they continue to offer a place where patrons can use computers, read newspapers, and check out materials.
