Parents and students will bike, scooter or trek to Shorewood schools Wednesday in recognition of International Walk to School day.
School-goers are encouraged to avoid making the drive in and walk or bike to their Shorewood school.
The effort started in Chicago in 1992 and has grown to all 50 states and 40 countries. Whether your concern is safer and improved streets, healthier habits, or cleaner air, Walk to School Day events are aimed at bringing forth permanent change to encourage a more walkable America.
