What's Up This Week in Shorewood? Village Board Meets; Preps Sports

A look ahead at the week's local events and news.

Here's a look at what's coming up this week in Shorewood. If we're missing something, you can add it to the calendar.

Village Board meets Tuesday — Officials will meet for a regular meeting and consider awarding $8.29 million in bonds and purchasing a street sweeper with Whitefish Bay, among other business.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 3930 N. Murray Ave.

School district business — School officials will stay busy this week with an adhoc finance committee on Monday night at 6 to discuss budget gap fillers. There will be two meetings on Tuesday night: a committee meeting to draft district policies at 5:15 p.m. and a “big idea” meeting at 6:30 p.m. to discuss response to intervention, a new program aimed at helping struggling students.

All meeting are held at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

Preps sports — The Shorewood boys basketball team will hit the court for their final game of the regular season with a Woodland Conference match against Cudahy. The Greyhounds are 10-11 (6-11) on the season.

The girls basketball squad hosts two home games this week: Palmyra-Eagle on Tuesday and Cudahy on Friday. They are 5-14 (4-12).

All games start at 7:30 p.m. and home games are played at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

Shorewood High School benefit concert — High school orchestra students will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the SHS auditorium, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.
