• Milwaukee County EMS blood transfusion program looks to expand (spectrumnews1.com) — If you ever face severe bleeding in South Milwaukee, local paramedics can now give life-saving whole blood transfusions before you reach the hospital. South Milwaukee’s fire department is one of seven in Milwaukee County carrying type O+ blood in special coolers, part of a growing program credited with saving dozens of lives in its first year. 
• Wisconsin prosecutors play role in man's 20-year drug sentence (jsonline.com) — South Milwaukee residents should know their local police department helped investigate a major multi-state drug ring that led to a 20-year federal prison sentence for a Milwaukee man. Federal prosecutors say the operation moved fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana across the Midwest, with Milwaukee-area locations used to mix and package drugs and multiple agencies, including South Milwaukee police, working together on the case.
