1 Child Injured At Christmas Parade Remains In Fair Condition

WAUKESHA, WI —One child remains in fair condition in Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Hospital after being injured Nov. 21 in the Waukesha Christmas parade, the hospital announced Wednesday.

Two other children were discharged this week, the hospital said.

The hospital treated 18 children after a man drove an SUV through barricades and into a crowd of people at the parade in Waukesha. Six people were killed, and more than 60 injured.

"While the medical conditions of the children involved have improved, many face a journey of long recovery as a result of injuries," the hospital said in an earlier statement.

Darrell Brooks Jr., 39, was charged with six counts of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the incident, court records showed. Brooks was accused of intentionally driving an SUV through crowds of people at the parade.

The hospital also offered the services of its mental and behavioral health helpline, 414-266-6500, as a resource to family members seeking help with the emotional effects of trauma.
