1 Dead, 1 Injured In Waukesha Motorcycle Accident

The accident happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 67 near County Highway 77.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — One person is dead and another seriously injured after a Saturday-afternoon accident in Waukesha County on Highway 67 near County Highway 77.

Authorities say a 33-year-old man from Elgin, Illinois was riding his motorcycle south on Highway 67 when he lost control of the motorcycle and veered into the northbound lanes, when he struck a motorcycle heading north.

According to Waukesha County sheriff's officials, the rider from Elgin died at the scene. The other motorcycle rider, a 37-year-old man from New Berlin, was rushed to the hospital with serious, though non-life-threatening injuries, sheriff's officials said.

Highway 67 was shut down for several hours due to the crash and the accident is continuing to be investigated as of Monday morning, Sheriff's officials said.
