$100,000 In Damages After Waukesha Garage Fire Spreads To Home
The Waukesha fire and police departments were dispatched to a fire in the 400 block of Lemira Avenue on Saturday.
WAUKESHA, WI— A detached garage was engulfed in flames on Saturday morning in Waukesha, fire officials said. Waukesha Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a fire in the 400 block of Lemira Avenue.
The fire spread to the house and neighboring garage, according to a press release. The fire was quickly extinguished and there was exterior damage to the home and neighboring garage.
The release said damage is estimated at $100,000. Everyone inside the home was able to escape safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fire officials reminded Waukesha residents to use caution and care when disposing of used charcoal and ashes. Firefighters said it should be placed in a metal, noncombustible container away from any structures, the release said.
