2 Dogs Died In Hartwell Ave. Fire: Report
Authorities say fire crews found a two-story home with heavy fire throughout the first floor and into the attic.

WAUKESHA, WI — Authorities in Waukesha say that two dogs have died in a house fire that was reported on the morning of Jan. 17.
Waukesha Fire Department officials said authorities were alerted to a house fire at 709 N. Hartwell Ave. at just after 10:35 a.m.
When they arrived, authorities say fire crews found a two-story home with heavy fire
throughout the first floor and into the attic. It took fire crews over two hours from five departments before the fire was brought under control.

Of the four pets that were recovered from the building two died from excessive heat from the fire and smoke inhalation. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported. Damage is estimated at $200,000.
Authorities say the the fire appeared not to be suspicious in nature.
