3 Waukesha Restaurants Raise $10K For 2 Groups Hurt In Parade

WAUKESHA, WI — Three Waukesha restaurants joined together to raise $10,000 for two groups affected when a man drove through marchers and spectators at the Christmas parade, Club 400 announced on Facebook.

Club 400, Sobelman's Pub & Grill-Waukesha and La Estacion donated 50 percent of their sales on Dec. 8 to the Xtreme Dance Team and Waukesha South High School Band. The money was evenly distributed to each group Wednesday.

Members of both groups were affected in the Christmas parade incident, in which six people died and more than 60 were injured.

"Thank you again for continuing to show compassion and care to the community we live in. You make us proud to call Waukesha home," Club 400 said.

The United for Waukesha Community Fund also began accepting applications for financial assistance from groups and families of victims and others affected in the parade.

The Waukesha County Community Foundation, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Education Foundation established the fund to raise money for parade victims.

Applicants have to submit either a deceased victim claim form or a uniform claim form in one of the following categories.

  • Claimants for people who died in the parade; they are in the highest category of payment.
  • Individuals injured who required overnight hospitalization.
  • People treated for injuries at Waukesha and Milwaukee county area hospitals.
  • People present at the parade, such as first responders and medical professionals who treated the injured.
  • Nonprofit agencies serving people affected by the parade.
  • Nonprofit agencies providing mental health services for people affected by the parade.
