“JanBoree will be loaded with fun opportunities again this year but it will definitely look a little different” said City of Waukesha, Parks, Recreation & Forestry Special Events Coordinator, Joanna Adamicki in a release. “One of the biggest changes is having to register for many of the activities rather than just dropping in so we can keep attendance at reasonable levels and provide socially-distant spacing.”
The Waukesha JanBoree kicks off Fri., Jan. 15 with activities in both Frame and Lowell Parks.
- A registration required Glow Walk, sponsored by the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc., takes place in Frame Park, 1150 Baxter St. At Lowell Park, 2201 Michigan Ave.
- JanBoree-goers will find a Fireworks Extravaganza with more aerial fireworks viewable from the car.
- Free toboggan rentals requiring registration, open ice skating and sledding.
- Drive through Hot Chocolate Pick Up Kit sponsored by Educators Credit Union.
- JanBoree opening weekend continues with activities such as the Pancake Breakfast Drive Thru.
- Penguin Egg Hunt, Ancient Snow Snake Games, Ice Bocce, nature hike, and more, all requiring registration.
To kick off the City of Waukesha’s 125th Anniversary Celebration there will be a drive-up Beer Unveiling and Release at Raised Grain Brewing Co., 725 Dolphin Dr.
Throughout the run of the JanBoree, virtual and self-guided activities include aviation challenges with the Waukesha County Airport on Facebook, a City-Wide Snowman Build Contest with prizes, and a scavenger hunt sponsored by Educators Credit Union on the Goosechase app also with prizes.
