6 Dead After Hartland Apartment Fire: Reports
Police are investigating after six people died Friday morning amid a fire at an apartment building in Hartland, according to reports.
HARTLAND, WI — At least six people died after a fire at an apartment building in Hartland early Friday morning, police told reporters during a news conference.
Police and firefighters rescued people from inside the burning building and from the building's balconies, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The fire happened in the 700 block of Mansfield Court, according to TMJ4. Altogether, 15 fire departments and nine police departments responded to the blaze at the four-family building, reports said.
On Friday afternoon authorities clarified that six deaths were confirmed, according to reports. Earlier, police had said seven people died.

Hartland Police Chief Thorin Misko told reporters that a criminal investigation is underway after the fatal fire, although details were limited at first.
