Seven students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) are currently benefiting from the support they received from the Sentry Insurance Foundation Student Leadership Scholarship.

Curtis Peacock (Platteville), Sarah Wardecke (Appleton), Carly Diermeier (Waukesha), Alison Drvaric (Waukesha) and Maxwell Williams (Appleton) are seniors, juniors and sophomores whose scholarships were renewed for the current academic year because of their continuing scholastic achievement, leadership in extracurricular activities, and pursuit of a major in marketing, mathematics, accounting and finance or actuarial science.

Two freshmen, Laura B. Morgan (Kenosha) and Nicole Gellings (Mount Calvary), also received the scholarships, which are valued at $2,500 each, and are renewable for four years.

“Since receiving the Sentry Insurance Foundation Leadership Scholarship, I have been able to remain focused on the big picture of college, being academics,” writes Diermeier. “Knowing that I was selected among so many applicants to have the privilege of receiving this scholarship has kept me on track to uphold the honor that comes with the Sentry Insurance name. Along with all of the fun things that go along with attending UWM, having my name associated with the Sentry Insurance Scholarship has served as a reminder of the importance of working hard in school to become successful in a future career.”
