Milwaukee Wave Players Visit North Waukesha KinderCare

Milwaukee Wave midfielder Ian Bennett and goalkeeper Nick Vorberg visited the North Waukesha KinderCare Tuesday to celebrate the national Week of the Young Child. The Wave players organized relay races with the children and taught them about the importance of active play.

The Week of the Young Child is an annual National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)-sponsored celebration that focuses public attention on the needs of young children and their families and recognizes the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. Early childhood education and care providers around the country will take part in this year’s celebration, “Early Years Are Learning Years,” during the week of April 22-28.

The North Waukesha KinderCare has earned the coveted five-star rating by the state’s YoungStar program. YoungStar is a childcare rating program run by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. The program rates child care providers on a scale of one to five stars based on education, learning environment, business practices and the health and well-being of children.
