Darwin D. Meissner, a lifelong resident of Hartland, was born to eternal life on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the age of 92 years.
Darwin was born on Oct. 25, 1919, son of William and Ida (nee Manke) Meissner.
On April 7, 1945, Darwin married the love of his life, Alice Lees. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Merton and formerly of Calvary Baptist Church, Menomonee Falls, and Lisbon United Presbyterian Church, Sussex. Darwin enjoyed traveling and a cottage on Goose Lake, WI; but his life’s joy was working the dairy farm that his father before him, and his son after him, worked. He was born and died in the same bedroom of the farmhouse his father built in 1906. He was content in quietly, humbly and faithfully serving his family and his Lord.
