
Edgar J. Prager, of Waukesha, passed away unexpectedly in Sarasota, FL, on Monday, March 5, 2012, at the age of 88 years. Edgar was born in Waukesha on June 30, 1923, the son of John and Louise (nee Kopchinski) Prager.
Edgar was raised on a farm and as an adult started his own farm in Waukesha. In 1948, he went into the concrete and masonry trade and later founded Edgar J. Prager and Sons Inc. Edgar started his business from the ground up, and he made it a very successful and well known.
Edgar enjoyed fishing, golfing, card playing, gardening, wood working and making beautiful stained glass and jewelry. Edgar loved to travel and had visited all 50 states throughout his lifetime. His travels took him to many places including mission trips to Brazil and Venezuela.

Edgar will be dearly missed by his children, Patricia (Wayne) Jacobi of Waukesha, Barbara Leonard of Green Bay, Gerald (Karie) Prager of Pewaukee and Daniel (Mary Ann) Prager of Waukesha. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, John (Kristen), Colleen (Steve), Amy (Steve), Chris (Greg), Eric (Rebekah), Ryan (Susan), Melodie, Charity, Daniel and Claire, and his 11 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Clarence (Rhoda) Prager of Waukesha; sister, Ruthie (Francis) Rogers of Waukesha; sister-in-law, Jeanine Prager of Pewaukee; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1983; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Janet.
Visitation for Edgar was held Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend John Borgwardt officiated the service. Edgar will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
