Obituary: Grace Margaret Poff (nee Kline)

Grace Margaret Poff (nee Kline), of Edgerton, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Grace was born in Beloit, WI on Aug. 23, 1918, the daughter of Dell and Sarah Ada (nee Rylatt) Kline. Grace was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a dedicated member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha for over 50 years. Grace owned and operated Mainway Market Grocery Store. She also worked at A & P Grocery Store, JCPenney’s and she retired from HUSCO. Grace loved to attend Friday night fish fries with her family. She will be forever remembered as a wonderful mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma. Grace had a passion for her family and loved to spend as much time with them as she could. 

Grace will be dearly missed by her children, Robert (Janet) Kranich of Arkdale, William Poff of Edgerton, Jerri Lynn (Dennis) Siegrist of Waukesha and Richard “Dick” (Cindy) Poff of Edgerton; her 19 grandchildren, Cheryl (Rob) Steinman, Pam (Jim) Stukel, Debbie Murphy, Bobby Kranich, Jeff (Mary) Kranich, Scott Kranich, Jodi Lucas, Larry (Pam) Swenor, Leonard Swenor, David (Cindy) Swenor, Sharon (Jerry) Robinson, Todd Swenor, Tamara Poff, Dennis (Rachel) Siegrist, Scott (Debbie) Siegrist, Mike (Kelly) Siegrist, Richie (Kelly) Poff, Kimberly (Mike) Ackmann and Krissy (Matt) Hemenway; her 30 great grandchildren; her 14 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Loretta (Duane) Wolf; and many other family and friends. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her sons, Gerald “Jake” Poff and Arleigh Kranich Jr.; her daughter, Shelby Ullery; her parents; and nine siblings.

A visitation for Grace was held at the Cesarz, Charaptata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Frank Janzow officiated the service. A private family burial will took place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in East Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family to Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp Street, Waukesha, WI 53188.
