Obituary: Siri Synneva Hernandez (nee Nuland)

Siri Synneva Hernandez (nee Nuland), of Waukesha, died on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at her home at the age of 56 years following a year-long battle with cancer.

She was born in Duluth, MN on Dec. 24, 1955, the daughter of Dr. Stanley J. and Barbara C. (nee Mullen) Nuland. She was a 1974 graduate of Platteville High School.  On June 25, 1977, she married Joseph Hernandez in Des Plaines, IL. She was a 1998 graduate of the MATC School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at Woodland Nursing Home and at Waukesha Springs.  She was a member of the Republican Party in Waukesha and of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Joseph of Waukesha, her children: Elisa Claire Camargo of Waukesha, Rachel Elaine Hernandez of Greenfield, Anne Elizabeth Rivera of Waukesha, Michael Joseph Hernandez of Waukesha and her stepson Joseph Hernandez Jr. of Waukegan, IL, her mother Barbara Nuland of Brookfield, her grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Camargo, Isabel Reyna Camargo, Miguel Angel Camargo Jr., and Anthony Michael Westerhausen, her step-grandchildren Joey Hernandez, Julian Rico Hernandez and Gianna Unique Hernandez.  She is further survived by her siblings, Jane Mary Nuland of Brookfield, Andrea Rachel (Donald) Saunders of Platteville, David Paul (Carmen) Nuland of Galesville, WI and Dagny Anne Aiken of West Allis along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Stanley Nuland.

Visitation was held Friday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha.  Reverend Kathy J. Boadwine presided.  Burial was held at Deerfield Lutheran Cemetery in Deerfield, Wisconsin.
