Obituary: V. Lorraine “Dode” Bloomdahl

V. Lorraine “Dode” Bloomdahl, formerly of West Chicago, died Wed., June 20, 2012 at age 90.

 She was born in Ellis, SD, on Dec. 7, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (nee Unger) Trotter.  On June 2, 1951 she married Edwin Bloomdahl; he preceded her in death. Dode was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in West Chicago, was an avid bowler and was bowler of the year in 1977.

Survived by her son Jeff (Mimi) Bloomdahl, two grandchildren, Matthew (Lynsey) Fanter and Zachary Bloomdahl and one great-grandchild Dakota Fanter. Further survived by her sisters Juanita Stephenson and Donna Guddendorf, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to her husband Edwin and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Oswald Trotter, sister-in-law Marge Trotter and brothers-in-law Leroy Stephenson and John Guddendorf.

Private family burial will be held at Garfield Cemetery in IL.
