Armed Robbery In Waukesha Ends In 5-Hour Search For Suspects: Police

A fourth and final suspect in an attempted Waukesha robbery was arrested Wednesday evening after a five-hour-long search, police said.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police arrested four people on Wednesday evening after an armed robbery led to a 5-hour-long search for suspects, according to a news release from police.

It happened in the 400 block of West Sunset Drive just before 5:30 p.m. A man told police that two people pulled up, jumped out of a car and demanded personal items and his car as they brandished a gun, according to the news release.

The suspects were not able to take the man's vehicle so they drove away, according to police. When police arrived they saw a car driving recklessly on West Avenue so they pursued it until the car crashed near Hoover Avenue, the news release said.

After about five hours of officers searching through junk yards, storage yards and wooded areas, a canine unit found and apprehended the suspect who was hiding in an old truck under heavy brush, according to police.

All four people arrested were from Milwaukee, according to police. Three 18-year-old men were arrested alongside a 17-year-old boy, police said.

Police said they found evidence linking all four suspects to the armed robbery. Police said they are recommending charges of armed robbery, obstructing, possession of narcotics, eluding and attempted theft.

No officers or citizens were injured amid the incident, police said.
