Bank Robber Told Tellers He Had A Hand Grenade Before Arrest: WKPD
Waukesha police arrested a man after he passed a note to bank tellers that said he had a hand grenade in the city's downtown.
WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police arrested a man who robbed a downtown bank on Friday, after he had threatened to use an explosive on the tellers.
Police arrested an unnamed man in his 60s as he was walking out of the Waukesha State Bank on 151 E. Saint Paul Ave., the Waukesha Police Department said in a statement. No one was injured in the robbery.
The man passed tellers a note that said he had a hand grenade in his pocket, police said.

Police didn't find a grenade and patrol officers stopped the man before any special units could be contacted, police captain Dan Baumann told Patch.
The city was alerted by a hold up alarm and a call from inside the bank about the robbery at 9:50 a.m., police said. Patrol officers arrested the man within 90 seconds of being dispatched.
