Bicyclist Dies In Wednesday Night Crash: Report

Authorities say the truck driver was a 56-year-old Oconomowoc man. Here's where it happened:

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A bicyclist is dead after a report of an accident in Waukesha County Wednesday night.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, at just after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, the driver of a box truck was heading east on Highway Q in Waukesha County when he struck bicycle rider just east of North Road in the Town of Lisbon.

Authorities say the truck driver was a 56-year-old Oconomowoc man, and are withholding the name of the bicycle rider pending notification of family members.

First responders from the Lisbon and Richfield fire departments responded to the scene, as well as Sheriff's deputies from both Waukesha and Washington Counties.

The bicycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and authorities say the truck driver is cooperating with authorities who are investigating the accident.
