Cheapest Gas In Waukesha? County Prices Ease After Sharp Raise In WI

WAUKESHA, WI — Gas prices are starting to ease in Waukesha County — a cool $3.75 for a gallon of regular gasoline on Monday — after the average price of fuel in Wisconsin bubbled up to $4 this spring, according to Triple A.

Gas prices across the U.S. are still up more than a dollar than they were a year ago, but Waukesha is one of the counties in southeast Wisconsin that saw prices steadily drop over the past couple of weeks. Retail fuel prices in Waukesha County averages at $3.75, which is eight cents lower than the county average on Tuesday, Triple A data showed.

• Costco, 15300 W. Grange Ave., New Berlin: $3.59

The average price for a gallon of gas in Wisconsin is $3.76 and the national average was $4.11 on Monday, Triple A data showed. In Milwaukee County, gas price averages totaled $3.86.

Americans saved around $100 million every day as gas prices tumbled for the third straight week, GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement. The price peak in March 2022 could stay if world affairs like the Russian war on Ukraine, hurricane season or the COVID-19 pandemic don't take an expected turn, he added.

Wisconsin had its highest gas peak ever in 2011, with gas costing a hefty $4.11 for a gallon of regular gasoline, Triple A data showed.
