'We Lost Everything': Couple Die In Waukesha Apartment Fire, Daughter Hosts Fundraiser

"We also need to take care of our parents' funeral expenses, as their lives aren't replaceable," the fundraiser's organizer said.

WAUKESHA, WI — The daughter and son of a couple that died in a Waukesha apartment fire hosted a fundraiser on Wednesday to raise money for funeral costs.

Katrina McQuade, the daughter of Kevin and Kim McQuade, asks for $25,000 after a blaze gutted her parents' multifamily apartment building early Tuesday morning. So far, the fundraiser has raised over $17,000.

"We lost everything," McQuade said on the fundraiser's webpage. "Neither of my parents had life insurance, nor renters insurance, so everything is coming out of their children's pockets, being ages 21 and 20."

Officials at the Waukesha Fire Department said Kevin, 50, was found dead in the apartment unit. Kim was flown to Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee, but her son and daughter ultimately made the decision to "let her go."

"We have things we need to replace, but we also need to take care of our parents’ funeral expenses, as their lives aren’t replaceable," Katrina said. "We would appreciate any help we can get in this trying time. We miss our parents."
