6 Waukesha County Nursing Homes Investigated For Coronavirus

Authorities say six Waukesha County long-term care facilities are being investigated following coronavirus outbreaks reported there.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Wisconsin health officials say they're investigating coronavirus outbreaks at six different Waukesha County long-term care facilities.

Overall, health officials say 38 long-term care and skilled nursing facilities are currently undergoing facility-wide public health investigations across the state after at least one resident or staff member tested positive for the new coronavirus.

DHS said one positive case of COVID-19 detected among residents or staff members in a nursing home automatically triggers a facility-wide public health investigation.

In a statement, DHS said the nursing homes are following proper procedure and working with public health experts to test, protect and isolate residents to prevent the spread of infection.

Brookfield Rehabilitation and Specialty Care — Waukesha County
