Deaths On Lac La Belle Leave Families Mourning; Victims Identified
After authorites said two people died within the span of four days on Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, two families have been left to mourn.
OCONOMOWOC, WI — Authorites have confirmed the identities of the two men who recently died after going missing on Lac La Belle within the span of just days. The deaths have left two separate families mourning.
The victims, both from the Milwaukee area, were Agean Yang, 32, and Elijahwan Green, 35, the Waukesha County Medical Examiner confirmed for Patch. The Oconomowoc Enterprise was first to report the names of both men.
The first man went missing in the water on July 21. A search lasted for days, and authorites said they eventually recovered the 32-year-old man's body on Saturday. Just one day later, a 35-year-old man also went missing in the water. His body was recovered that same evening, the Western Lakes Fire District said.

Oconomowoc Police Sgt. Jake Bolyard told reporters the public doesn't face any danger on Lac La Belle so long as safety precautions are being followed, according to the report.

Family was an important part of Yang's life, according to a fundraiser started in the wake of his death by his sister, Toukue Yang. He was on a pontoon trip with friends and family to enjoy the nice weather that day when he went missing.
"As the eldest son, his goal was to support his younger siblings and mother with dementia," Yang wrote in the fundraiser. "He was a respected member of the Yang clan and had provided support anywhere and everywhere he could."
He had graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2018 with aspirations to help those in need, especially those in the Hmong community, by translating in medical facilities, the fundraiser said.
Yang was a musician who played the guitar and was in a family band, the fundraiser said. Many described him as humorous, energetic, spontaneous and caring, Yang wrote in the fundraiser. Agean's death comes just months after the death of one of his sisters.
"Agean wanted a big funeral for our sister when she passed. We, too, would love to be able to give Agean a big funeral," the fundraiser said. "We would appreciate any help or donations you can provide to support the family as we prepare a proper funeral for Agean."
