Fitzgerald Announces First Major Endorsement

Fitzgerald is joining a field of candidates to replace longtime Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner.

WAUKESHA, WI — One candidate for Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District is lining up endorsements in advance of the 2020 election.

State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says that Kevin Nicholson, Marine Corps Veteran and President & CEO of No Better Friend Corp., endorsed him for the seat. Nicholson has reportedly stated that he will not enter the race.

Fitzgerald is joining a field of candidates to replace longtime Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, who will retire in 2020 after serving in the office since 2003.

Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District encompasses Dodge, Washington, Jefferson and the northern part of Waukesha County and parts of western Milwaukee County.

“I'm so grateful for the outpouring of support that we've received in the month since we launched Scott Fitzgerald for Congress, and we're thrilled to have Kevin's endorsement as my candidacy gains momentum," said Fitzgerald in a statement.
