Gun Incident Prompted Lockdown At Waukesha North High School

WAUKESHA, WI — The same day that police in Waukesha shot a Waukesha South High School student who was armed in a classroom comes news that officers headed off a second threat - this time at Waukesha North High School.

According to Waukesha Police, a student reportedly had a gun at Waukesha North Monday afternoon, and fled the school. Authorities caught up with him at a home in the city, where he was arrested. The lock down at Waukesha North started at 2 p.m. By 2:10 p.m., the lock down had been lifted, authorities say.

According to a WTMJ report, a police SWAT situation on Gascoigne Drive in Waukesha was related to the Waukesha North incident. In a post on Twitter, a person living on Gascoigne Drive published a photo showing a SWAT team operating on her street.

A report from the Waukesha Freeman stated that neighbors heard multiple gunshots during the police activity on Gascoigne Drive, and that at least two people were arrested.
