Happy 106th Birthday To The Wizard Of Waukesha
Les Paul was born on this day in 1915.

WAUKESHA, WI—Happy 106th birthday Les Paul. The Les Paul Foundation is celebrating Les Paul all day with sneak peeks at rare personal and career photos. Throughout the day, the foundation will post an exclusive photo of Les with family, friends and some of his trusted inventions.
Fans will get to experience the life of Les Paul through photographs that will also be part of a new traveling exhibit aptly titled "Les Paul Through the Lens," according to the foundation.
Lester William Polsfuss was born in Waukesha on June 9, 1915.

Paul praised his mother for her unwavering encouragement, his Waukesha teachers and the Waukesha community for its support in his formative years.
Paul's quest for the perfect sound led to the development of the solid body electric guitar, multiple recording techniques and to the invention of the 8-track tape recorder.

Paul, a musician and inventor of the solid-body electric guitar, is a Waukesha native who died in August 2009 at age 94.
He is buried in Waukesha at Prairie Home Cemetery.
