Highway 100 Shut Down At I-94 For Several Hours Following Crash

Traffic was snarled Monday morning after authorities say a high-speed chase resulted on a crash on I-94 in Milwaukee County.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Waukesha County say three people were seriously injured after a police chase that began Sunday night in Waukesha County ended in Milwaukee County.

According to sheriff's officials in Waukesha County, a deputy on patrol on I-94 tried to pull over the driver of a vehicle who was speeding, heading east on I-94 near Moorland Road.

Authorities said the driver did not pull over, and instead, lead the deputy on a high-speed chase east, resulting in a crash on Highway 100 where it passes over I-94 at just before midnight.

According to a FOX 6 report, the driver slammed into an I-94 median wall. Photos from the scene showed the sedan crumpled with airbags deployed.

According to sheriff's officials, the vehicle's 20-year-old driver, as well as a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old passenger were all injured in the crash and transported from the scene.

Authorities said the east off ramp to Highway 100 as well as both north and south lanes were shut down for several hours as the crash victims were transported from the scene and the debris was cleaned up. By 5 a.m., the area had been cleared, authorities said.

The West Allis Fire and Police Departments, Wauwatosa Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Milwaukee County Sheriff Department all responded to render aid, authorities said.
