How Much Snow Waukesha Can Expect: Winter Storm Warning
The National Weather Service put a winter storm warning in effect for Waukesha County until 7 p.m. Thursday. Here's how much snow to expect.
WAUKESHA, WI — Heavy snowfall is expected across Waukesha County into Thursday evening, possibly causing slippery road conditions and reduced visibility, according to the National Weather Service.
Amid the snowfall, wind gusts as high as 35 mph could cause blowing and drifting snow, the NWS said. Evening commuters could run into issues.
But how much exactly can we expect here in Waukesha, Brookfield and beyond? According to the NWS forecast, around 4-6 inches are possible in the area. A separate tweet from Thursday morning said up to 9 inches could even be possible.

People living closer to Lake Michigan may be seeing higher snow totals, national forecasters said. A tweet from the NWS in Milwaukee/Sullivan noted that Milwaukee and other areas closer to Lake Michigan could expect 7-11 inches of snowfall.
The highest impacts will come in the afternoon and early evening as snow falls in narrow bands leading to locally higher amounts, the NWS said.
