How to Apply to Replace Departing Ald. Paul Ybarra
Letters of interest are due July 5 and the council will choose a replacement July 16.
Citizens interested in replacing District 5 Ald. Paul Ybarra should submit a letter of interest to Mayor Jeff Scrima by July 5.
The council will interview candidates at its July 16 meeting and then choose a replacement for Ybarra, who resigned to spend more time with his family.
The appointee will serve until April 2014, at which time they must run for a two-year term in order to serve the typical three-year term.

The police department will conduct a background check on all applicants. Letters should be sent to:
