Increase In Unlocked Car Entries In Waukesha: Police

Police are asking for help in preventing car thefts and entries into cars.

WAUKESHA, WI— Waukesha Police are warning residents to lock their cars at all times. Over the past few weeks, Waukesha has seen an increase of people entering unlocked cars, according to police. In some cases, they are entering garages and stealing cars.

“While we typically think of these crimes occurring at night, they are also occurring during the day and early evening,” Waukesha Police said.

  • Do not leave valuables or keys in unlocked vehicles.
  • Do not leave open garage doors unattended for an extended period of time. Garage door openers may be taken from unlocked cars causing future security risks.
