Investigation At Lawrence School After Child Abuse Accusation: Police
After an accusation of child abuse, police said a criminal investigation is underway at The Lawrence School in Waukesha.

WAUKESHA, WI — A criminal investigation is underway after an accusation of child abuse at The Lawrence School in Waukesha, according to police.
Information was limited, but police said the children are all safe at this time. Authorites worked to reunite students with their families, said Waukesha Police Captain Dan Baumann in a statement Wednesday. Reunification was taking longer than expected because the students are mainly toddlers and infants, Baumann said.
"This I know we all agree takes time and we want it to take as much time as we can to get it right," Baumann said.

A police presence could be seen outside the school Wednesday morning, according to TMJ4 news.
"As for arrests and criminal referrals, that information will come out later," said Baumann. "Our number one focus is on the safety and reunification of the child, while in the same breath conducting a parallel criminal investigation. We appreciate everyone’s patience and for providing us space to advocate for those children and give them a voice.
