'Karma' Catches Up With Suspected Waukesha Thief

Man refuses to give back a stolen phone and is later arrested for OWI, police say.

A theft victim felt karma caught up with a suspected thief and decided to not file charges. Waukesha police responded to a call in the 300 block of West Sunset Drive on Saturday. The victim told police he called his stolen phone and a person answered and said they would not give it back and swore at him, according to the police log.

The suspected thief was stopped nearby for an unrelated matter and arrested for operating while intoxicated. The stolen phone was tracked to the traffic stop and found inside the car.

The victim was given his phone back but didn't want to file a complaint.
