Seven Years Strong: The Kelly Johnson Foundation's Turkey Trot Returns for a Day of Gratitude, Community, and Fitness Fun

BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN – As Thanksgiving fast approaches, the Kelly Johnson Foundation invites you to join our 7th annual Turkey Trot 5K. This event will be a celebration of community, adventure, and fitness, making the day a memorable one.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 30th at 9:00am CST, where the fun will take place at Fox Brook Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Runners of all levels are welcome and encouraged to try it out, where anyone may participate for their own enjoyment or for a friendly competition. Participants are free to run, walk or stroll their way to the finish line.

The race will be separated into division based on age group and gender. It will be timed, and awards given out to the top male and female runners by age division & overall male and female finisher. There will also be a giveaway available for every participant at the end of the race, with prizes including but not limited to Wisconsin Athletic Club (WAC) 30 Day Membership, the Unforgiving Line Running Books by Paul Maurer, Performance Running Outfitters gift cards, Rustoleum Paint gift packs, Goodr running accessories, Simple Biz 360 prize pack, and more!

The spirit of giving back is strong during this season, and all participants will leave with a sense of fulfillment. Event proceeds will help the Kelly Johnson Foundation support local high schools in the US that have insufficient funding for after-school athletic and extracurricular programs. These contributions fuel the growth of its Johnson Family Scholarship program.

Kelly Johnson, the founder of the Kelly Johnson Foundation, is beyond thrilled to be able to host the Turkey Trot for the 7th year. She explains her excitement as she says, “This event is a reminder that every stride we take, every smile we share, and every donation we receive brings us closer to making a positive difference in our community.”

This race is more than a fun run, it is about a sense of community and charity, as well as a unique way to meet and connect with people who have similar interests. The run is open to everyone including spectators, volunteers, runners, and sponsors.

"Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering alongside the course, we’re so thankful to have you here with us today. Let’s make this year’s Turkey Trot the best one yet,” says Johnson.

The runner registration fee is $20 for youth runners, $35 for adults, and $30 for seniors, if purchased pre-race (before November 27th). This fee also includes a long-sleeve, moisture-wicking shirt to wear during the race, as well as post-race refreshments.

Johnson would like to extend to “a big thank you to the community for being part of something bigger than ourselves."
