Man Died From Injuries In Waukesha Train Accident: Report

According to Waukesha police call logs, the man was located on the north side of the tracks on the other side of La Estacion.

WAUKESHA, WI — A 33-year-old Chicago man who was struck by a train in Waukesha on Christmas eve has died from his injuries, authorities say. He has yet to be identified publicly.

The Waukesha Police Department was notified that later on Christmas Eve that the man died from his inujries.

According to Waukesha Police call logs, officers and rescue personnel were called to the intersection of N. Grand Ave. and Millers Court at just after 4 a.m. on Dec. 24 after a Canadian National railway worker called police, saying their train struck a man who was on the tracks.

Police call logs stated the man was crossing the tracks prior to the collision. According to Waukesha Police, investigators believe the man was walking home after work and did not hear the train coming due to having in-ear headphones on. The accident is being investigated by the Waukesha Police Department and the Canadian National Railroad.

According to a JSOnline report, the train's conductor saw the man on the tracks, however could not slow the train in time to prevent a collision. The man was transported to the ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital while unconscious.
