Man Refuses To Wear Face Mask At Woodman's In Waukesha: Police

The man told police he has COPD and felt discriminated against.

WAUKESHA, WI—Waukesha Police were called to remove a person Tuesday from Woodman's, 1600 E. Main St.

A 38-year-old man was asked numerous times to leave because he was not wearing a mask, the police log said.

The man said he has COPD and can't wear a mask, the log said. The manager said no one is above the store's policy regarding masks, even for claimed medical reasons, the log said.

The man felt he "was being discriminated against," but left without incident, the log said.

According to a November update on Woodman's website, it states face covering is required.

"In compliance with current state orders, and for the safety of our team, vendors and guests, we ask all guests shopping at Woodman’s wear a face covering that properly fits, snuggly covering both the mouth and nose. A face shield is required for those unable to wear a face covering. Guests not following these protocols will not be served. We offer online shopping for pick-up or delivery as an alternate shopping option."
