Miss Kari's Bakery Brings Decorated Cakes to Downtown Storefront

Downtown Waukesha bakery is located on West Broadway.

Kari Jensen’s loved decorating cakes and cookies ever since she was a young girl. And now she’s taken her  treat designs to the next level.

Jensen opened a small bakery in downtown Waukesha in the beginning of July. She’s been busy ever since then, filling orders for bridal showers, baby showers and other events.

Jensen told Waukesha Patch on Tuesday that she has the greatest job after opening Miss Kari’s Bakery at 128 W. Broadway.

“It is just something I have always wanted to do,” Jensen said.

Jensen was renting a kitchen in Oconomowoc, but she knew she wanted to find her own baking space as her demand increased.

“It got insane,” she said. “They didn’t have enough hours for me.”

The new bakery is located where Cake Pops By Design had sold small treats for 1-1/2 years. A move to Colorado for the Cake Pops By Design owner led to the business’ closure, according to Jensen.

And so far, she’s seen a lot of customer’s at her business during Freeman Friday Night Live. Last Friday, Miss Kari’s Bakery sold out of cupcakes, Jensen said.

Miss Kari’s Bakery features cakes, wedding cakes, cake pops, cake balls, custom cookies and cheesecakes. Cakes for people with gluten, egg and dairy allergies are also available.

Miss Kari’s Bakery can be found on Facebook. The bakery is open Mondays through Fridays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays by appointment.  It will also be open during the Freeman Friday Night Live season from  5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays. Appointments can be made by calling 262-622-2953 or emailing karisbakery@yahoo.com
