Missing Child Found After Search on Hillside Drive

An 11-year-old missing child who was hiding in bushes promised to never run away again after police conducted a search in the area Thursday evening.

The child had left his bicycle in the yard on Hillside Drive and did not come up home after being gone for more than 1-1/2 hours, according to the Waukesha Police Department. Waukesha police and Waukesha County deputies were about to launch a four-mile-wide missing child alert, Flight For Life was about to search the area and bloodhounds were about to be called out when a deputy and a canine found the child hiding in a bush, according to the police department.

The child was upset with his sister, according to police, but after he was informed about the search efforts to find him, he promised to not run away again.
