No Injuries in Cooking Fire, Grass Fire

A small cooking fire Friday evening displaced the resident of an apartment, according to a local fire official.

The Red Cross was called to 1530 Big Bend Road after the fire was quickly extinguished. The fire was reported at 5:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported in Friday’s fire.

Meanwhile, no injuries were reported after a grass fire was reported Monday in Lowell Park, according to Battalion Chief Joe Hoffman. A neighbor near the park reported that children were in the area before the fire was started.
