Obituary: Juan “John” Hurtado

Juan “John” Hurtado, a longtime Waukesha resident, died on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years.

He was born in Mexico on Oct. 20, 1930, the son of Feliciano and Josefa (nee Carrillo) Hurtado. On Sept. 3, 1955. he married Rosa Monrial at St. Joseph Catholic Church where they have been longtime members.  John worked for Navistar for 27 years and worked as a driver for La Casa de Esperanza. He enjoyed bowling and was a very good dancer.  He will always be remembered as a great husband, father and grandfather. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 58 years Rosa of Waukesha and their four children, Diane (Bruce) Unferth of Waukesha, Mary (Thomas) Wanta of New Berlin, Venus (Doug) Cote` of Germantown and Jim Hurtado of Waukesha, his four grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Krueger, April (Anthony) Nizinski, Chad Unferth and David Krahn and by seven great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his sister Vicki Herrera along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Felix, Espiririon “Chico”, Philip and his sister Mary Cervantes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 4 p.m. until the time of the 7 p.m. vigil service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha.  Services continue on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at the funeral home with prayers beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha for the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass.  Father Bill Key will preside.  Graveside services will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
